REGISTRATION REQUIRES A PROOF OF RESIDENCY that shows where you live. IF YOUR NAME CHANGED OR ADDRESS CHANGED, YOU NEED TO REREGISTER . (this does not mean address changes due to the county readdressing) Example you lived on Alamo and moved to North Troy still in Town of Texas but different address. See WI Election Commission for list of documents that are acceptable to prove residency.
A photo ID is required to vote that shows WHO you are. Photo ID required at polls and to request absentee ballot.
Call Clerk 715-675-9063, or 715-370-1784 or text or email texas.clerk @yahoo.com
When we set appointment, it can be at my home office or the Town Municipal Center
Absentee voting requires a written request and photo ID. Request can be snail mail or email or through My Vote Wisconsin with photo ID attached. Deadline is Thursday prior to an election (best if much earlier). If photo ID was submitted for previous election, please state that. I should have on file.
With smart phone it is easiest to take photo of the ID and go to MY VOTE WISCONSIN and request the absentee ballot and attach the photo. The state will keep your photo ID on file and I do not. If you send mail or email, then I am required to keep the copy.
Registration is to prove where you live in the Town of Texas. If your driver's license has your address, it is used for both registration and photo ID. If your driver's license does not have your current address then you need to check the State Website. Usually a utility bill or bank statement with new address is used.
